Function

The exact function of MAP2 is unknown but MAPs may stabilize the microtubules against depolymerization. They also seem to have a stiffening effect on microtubules.

MAP2A/c is phosphorylated. Phosphorylated upon DNA damage, probably by ATM or ATR.
