WB: Use at an assay dependent dilution. (To detect hM-CSF by Western Blot analysis this antibody can be used at a concentration of 0.1 - 0.2 µg/ml. ELISA: Use at an assay dependent dilution. (To detect hM-CSF by direct ELISA (using 100µl/well antibody solution) a concentration of at least 0.5µg/ml of this antibody is required. This antigen affinity purified antibody, in conjunction with compatible secondary reagents, allows the detection of 0.2 - 0.4 ng/well of recombinant hM-CSF.)
Neut: Use at an assay dependent dilution. (To yield one-half maximal inhibition [ND50] of the biological activity of hM-CSF (7.0 ng/ml), a concentration of 0.02 - 0.03 µg/ml of this antibody is required.)
sELISA: Use a concentration of 0.1 µg/ml Can be paired for Sandwich ELISA with Mouse monoclonal [21] to MCSF (ab18645). (For sandwich ELISA, use this antibody as Detection at 0.1µg/ml with Ab18645 as Capture.)

Granulocyte/macrophage colony-stimulating factors are cytokines that act in hematopoiesis by controlling the production, differentiation, and function of 2 related white cell populations of the blood, the granulocytes and the monocytes-macrophages. CSF-1 induces cells of the monocyte/macrophage lineage. It plays a role in immunological defenses, bone metabolism, lipoproteins clearance, fertility and pregnancy.
Glycosylation and proteolytic cleavage yield different soluble forms. A high molecular weight soluble form is a proteoglycan containing chondroitin sulfate.
Isoform 1 is N- and O-glycosylated. Isoform 3 is N-glycosylated.
