Regarding the MMP 3 antibody. Does this antibody cross-react with any other MMPs? Specifically MMP10. Thank you for your help.

ANSWER:

  

This is a polyclonal antibody raised towards the whole MMP-3 molecule rather than a specific MMP-3 peptide. It will therefore recognise multiple epitopes, some of which may be common to several MMP molecules. It has been tested and shown not to cross react with MMP-1,2 or 9. However cross reactivity with MMP-10 has not been specifically examined. Given this and given that MMP-10 is structurally related to MMP-3, it is likely that it will recognise MMP-10. However we cannot guarantee the extent of this cross reactivity or even if it exists.
