I need to by an MMP-9 antibody that reacts with rat cells. I known you have this product (ab7299). The applications you refer are: IHC (frozen); IP and WB. What about immunocitochemistry (using a rat cell line)? Do you have any information on this? I also notest that in my abcam interests I have active MMP-9. This antibody has not been tested in immunocytochemistry, but as it works in immunohistochemistry and cross reacts with rat it is likely to work in your rat cell lines, but I cannot guarantee it as it hasn't been tested. Should you decide to test this antibody in immunocytochemistry, for which we do not have any information, please let us know how you get on and in return we will forward a GBP10/ USD15/ EUR15 Amazon gift voucher. Ab11225 recognises human MMP9, both active and latent forms under non-reducing conditions, but only the latent form under reducing conditions. Ab3159 recognizes latent and active forms of MMP-9. Do I assume that you test your antibodies on formalin fixed paraffin embedded tissue also? And if not, what is your opinion of this ab working on my specimens. We formalin fix all of our tissues and a have had good luck with other primaries. |

There is a chance that this antibody will work on FFPE tissue if antigen retrieval is performed. However, since we have not tested this antibody on FFPE tissue, we can not guarantee results. Please see the Abcam website for the antigen retrieval protocol. |
