Hy, we wonder if the rabit h-MSH2 antibodies will react with MSH2 from Arabidopsis thaliana and Nicotiana plum. Do you have any information about the specificity of this antibody in heterologous situations? Thanking for help, Gabriela Ispas |

ANSWER: |
No, cross reactivity has not been tested. However, details of the immunogen are given on the datasheet "a portion within the last 100 amino acids of the human Homolog 2 of E. coli MutS (GenBank PID 2135744)". You may wish to compare this sequecne with that from Arabidopsis thaliana and Nicotiana plum (if available) and determine the degree of sequence homology and hence the liklihood of a cross-reaction. It's also worth baring in mind that this is a polyclonal antibody and will therefore recognise a number of epitopes, thus increasing the probability of cross reaction. |
