Question 1

Monday 03-January-2005

Have the epitopes been mapped for these antibodies?

ANSWER:

Thank you for your enquiry. Here is the information that we have regarding the epitopes:

ab8605 - The dominant epitope of this antibody is the 8-mer SAPDTRPA of the MUC1 tandem repeat as established with “epitope fingerprinting.”

ab8607 - The dominant epitope of this antibody is APDTR as established with "epitope fingerprinting."

ab8608 - The dominant epitope of this antibody is the 7mer TSAPDTR of the MUC1 tandem repeat as established with "epitope fingerprinting."

ab8323 - Binds with high efficiency to epitope within the VNTR tandem repeat peptide region of MUC1 molecule.

ab14690 - This is a polyclonal antibody and will therefore consist of a mixed population of IgGs each of which will recognise a different epitope.

Question 2

Thursday 11-March-2004

Customer wantes to know if the following antibodies bind specifically protein A and whether "regular" protein A was used in purification (and not some sort of varient).

ANSWER:

Thank you for your enquiry. Regarding ab8322, ab8323, ab10114, ab10115, ab10118, ab10119, ab10123, and ab10124, the originator was able to say that the antibodies were purified by chromatography on Protein A Sepharose. Regarding ab8607, the originator said that they used a Protein A column made in-house and that the antibody is not 100% purified. Ab8203 was not Protein A purified. This is all the information that I can give you regarding your enquiry.

Question 3

Thursday 18-December-2003

I wonder whether this antibody was evaluated in nuclear medicine?

ANSWER:

Thank you for your enquiry. All the information that we have regarding ab8323 is located on the online datasheet. To our knowledge, ab8323 has only been tested for application in ELISA, Immunohistochemistry (Formalin-fixed paraffin-embedded sections), Immunohistochemistry (Frozen Sections), and Western blotting.
