Are these derived from the same originator? |
ANSWER: |
Thank you for contacting us. We offer many thousand products, it seems possible that in this particular instance we are offering the same monoclonal antibody from differing sources. Because the clone number is the same for both products, I am inclined to believe that they will have similar response in similar assays. However as the separate products have not been tested in the same assays we cannot guarantee that using one in an assay that the second has been tested for will produce acceptable results. We do have a program in place to for cases where we cannot guarantee the product only because it has not been tested in a particular assay, and where the item is know to react with the species type to be used or a species with >85% homology. This is our 100% Abreview discount. I can offer a discount off a future purchase if you buythe untested antibodynow, test it and submit feedback to us in the form of an Abreview. It doesn’t matter whether the Abreview is positive or negative, we would just really like to receive your feedback. The discount would be to the value of 1 free primary antibody. If you are interested in this offer, please follow these steps: 1. Reply to this e-mail to let me know that you would like to proceed and testthis. I will then send a discount code. This code must be issued before purchasing so please wait for my reply before ordering. 2. Purchase either by phone, fax, or online (www.abcam.com). 3. Test it in the untested assay. 4. Let us know the results, positive or negative, using our Abreview system (this will take about 10 minutes and images are great if you have them!). To find out how to submit an Abreview, please visit: http://www.abcam.com/abreviews. 5. After the review is submitted to us, the discount code becomes active. Simply place your new order by phone, fax, or on the web and mention the discount code. The discount can be redeemed for anyprimary antibodyordered and the discount code is valid for 4 months after issue. We are always pleased to obtain feedback about our products and any information is greatly appreciated! Even ifit turns out to be unsuitable, you will still receive the discount on your next purchase after your Abreview has been submitted. Please let me know if you have any questions about this offer and I would be happy to help you further. The Terms and Conditions of this offer can be found at: www.abcam.com/collaborationdiscount. |

Hi Amber, This is strange indeed! We'd like to add it to our datasheet but is there a reason it's not on your datasheet? |
ANSWER: |
Hello, When the datasheets were created the clone was not added to any of them. Sorry. I don't know the reason why but none of our datasheets show the clone. Thanks, Amber Castle -----Original Message----- From: technical@abcam.com [mailto:technical@abcam.com] Sent: Monday, October 30, 2006 8:50 AM To: Amber@qedbio.com Subject: Abcam question regarding 3330 - [CID137780] Any insight would be much appreciated! I have 2 questions re your anti-CA125 mAb. First, can you recommend a good positive control, and second, is CA125 trypsin sensitive?
ANSWER: |
Thank you for your enquiry. The antibody ab1107 has been tested in paraffin-embedded tissues of human adenocarcinoma and ovarian carcinoma. We do not know if CA-125 is trypsin-sensitive unfortunately. |

What is the Molecular weight and half life of ab11387 and ab1107? Furthermore can they go through a humanisation process?
ANSWER: |
Thank you for your enquiry. For ab11387, the half-life is not known. In addition I would like to refer you to the following publication for information on the molecular weight. It appears to be about 23kDa. The citation details are as follows: Berger P et al (1993) J. Clin. Endocrinol. Metab. 77(2):347-351. For ab1107, the molecular weight is approximately 150 kDa and the half-life is unknown. Regarding both, we don't have any information about whether they could go through a humanisation process. |

Pls inform us the molecular weight of ab1107/CA125 antibody. Thank you so much! |
ANSWER: |
Ab1107 is an IgG1 antibody, so the molecular weight of this will be in the range of 155-165 kDa. |

IHC image of ab1107 staining in human breast formalin fixed paraffin embedded tissue section, performed on a Leica BondTM system using the standard protocol F. The section was pre-treated using heat mediated antigen retrieval with sodium citrate buffer (pH6, epitope retrieval solution 1) for 20 mins. The section was then incubated with ab1107, 5µg/ml, for 15 mins at room temperature and detected using an HRP conjugated compact polymer system. DAB was used as the chromogen. The section was then counterstained with haematoxylin and mounted with DPX.
For other IHC staining systems (automated and non-automated) customers should optimize variable parameters such as antigen retrieval conditions, primary antibody concentration and antibody incubation times.
