Description
Fluorescent nucleotide GTP analog -
Biological description
Fluorescent nucleotide GTP analog. The fluorescence is sensitive to the hydrophobicity of the environment. Exists in equilibrium as a mixture of C2'- and C3'-substituted isomers. Induces archaeal FtsZ polymerization into inactive curved filaments that cannot hydrolyze the nucleotide. Undergoes hydrolysis by proteins such as Obg. Competes with GTP for Era hydrolysis.
