Product overview
Abcam’s Mouse CXCL1 ELISA (Enzyme-Linked Immunosorbent Assay) kit (GRO alpha) is an in vitro enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay for the quantitative measurement of mouse CXCL1 (GRO alpha) in serum, plasma and cell culture supernatants.
This assay employs an antibody specific for mouse CXCL1 coated on a 96-well plate. Standards and samples are pipetted into the wells and CXCL1 present in a sample is bound to the wells by the immobilized antibody. The wells are washed and biotinylated anti-mouse CXCL1 antibody is added. After washing away unbound biotinylated antibody, HRP-conjugated streptavidin is pipetted to the wells. The wells are again washed, a TMB substrate solution is added to the wells and color develops in proportion to the amount of CXCL1 bound. The Stop Solution changes the color from blue to yellow, and the intensity of the color is measured at 450 nm.

Function
Has chemotactic activity for neutrophils. May play a role in inflammation and exerts its effects on endothelial cells in an autocrine fashion. In vitro, the processed forms GRO-alpha(4-73), GRO-alpha(5-73) and GRO-alpha(6-73) show a 30-fold higher chemotactic activity. -
Sequence similarities
Belongs to the intercrine alpha (chemokine CxC) family. -
Post-translational
modificationsN-terminal processed forms GRO-alpha(4-73), GRO-alpha(5-73) and GRO-alpha(6-73) are produced by proteolytic cleavage after secretion from peripheral blood monocytes. -
Cellular localization
Secreted. - Information by UniProt
