Question 1

Tuesday 31-January-2012

Do you know the concentration of this antibody, or the IgG range?

ANSWER:

Thank you for contacting Abcam.
I have heard back from the lab already and they have told me that we do not measure the concentration of our tissue culture supernatants because of the other proteins in the supernatant that would interfere with the reading. Generally in these preparations, we expect 10-50ug/ml specific antibody.
Please let me know if you have any additional questions.

Question 2

Tuesday 31-January-2012

We frequently use your MBP antibody (ab7349) and we were wondering whether we can purchase this antibody already conjugated to a fluorophore? If this is possible please provide me a quote and estimate of how long it would take.

We typically bindab7349withAlexa Fluor 488 secondary. We would consider other fluorophores.

ANSWER:

Thank you for your patience.

I have heard back from the supplying lab.

Yes, it is certainly a possibility that we could provide this purified on a custom basis.Due to licensing restrictions on the Alexa and Dylight dyes,we would not be able to offer any of those. This leaves the standards RPE, FITC, APC, etc. The closest to Alexa488 would be FITC.

Alternatively, we could provide the purified material, andyoucould conjugate the material as described in the previous email (using the EasyLink kits - http://www.abcam.com/EasyLink).

I hope this information is helpful to you. if you have further questions regarding custom or bulk orders, please send them directly to sales@abcam.com.

Thank you for your continued business.

We typically bindab7349withAlexa Fluor 488 secondary. We would consider other fluorophores.

ANSWER:

Thank you for contacting us.

I have contacted the supplying lab to check if a custom conjugation might be possible. For custom orders we usually require an order of at least 10 vials.

Alternatively, you could conjugate the antibody yourself, using our EasyLink kits:

http://www.abcam.com/EasyLink

We do not offer AlexaFluor fluorophores, but have various other conjugates as well as different sizes from 3x10ug to 1x1mg. Please check the link above for the full list of conjugation kits that we have.

I will let you know what I hear back from the lab.

I hope this information is of some help to you. Please do not hesitate to contact us if you need any more advice or information.

Question 5

Monday 06-November-2006

I would appreciate it if you could let me know the accession # of the specific bovine immunogen that has been used to raise the antibody ab7349. Also if you could tell me what the amino acid sequence 82-87 is to which the ab binds, that would be great.

ANSWER:

Thank you for your enquiry.

I do not have the accession number for the immunogen; however, the amino acid sequence to which the antibody binds is DENPVV. I have updated the datasheet for future reference.
