  • Product nameNCAPH2 protein (Tagged-His Tag)See all NCAPH2 proteins and peptides ...
  • Protein descriptionRecombinant fragment, corresponding to amino acids 205-605 (401 amino acids) of Human NCAPH2 with an N-terminal His tag; Predicted MWt 46 kDa (UniProt Q6IBW4).
  • Expression hostE. coli
  • Properties

  • Purification notesPurity level >85%
This protein was expressed as an N-terminal His-tag fusion protein using Escherichia coli, and purified using Immobilized Metal Ion Affinity Chromatography. In some cases, smaller protein fragments may be present in addition to the intended expression product as a result of premature termination during translation in E. coli and subsequent co-purification via the His-tag. In some cases purified proteins run at a molecular weight different to the theoretically calculated molecular weight. This may be as a result of unequally distributed charges in the amino acid sequence. Alternatively, dimerisation of the expression product can occur under oxygen limitation during expression/cultivation.

  • FunctionRegulatory subunit of the condensin-2 complex, a complex that seems to provide chromosomes with an additional level of organization and rigidity and in establishing mitotic chromosome architecture. May play a role in lineage-specific role in T-cell development.
  • Sequence similaritiesBelongs to the CND2 H2 (condensin-2 subunit 2) family.
  • Post-translational
    modifications
Phosphorylated upon DNA damage, probably by ATM or ATR.
  • Cellular localizationNucleus. Chromosome. Distributed along the arms of chromosomes assembled in vivo and in vitro.
