    Neurotrophin 3 (NT3) is part of the family of neurotrophic factors that control survival and differentiation of mammalian neurons. NT3 is closely related to both nerve growth factor and brain derived neurotrophic factor. It may be involved in the maintenance of the adult nervous system, and affect development of neurons in the embryo when it is expressed in Human placenta.

    ab100615 Neurotrophin 3 Human ELISA (Enzyme-Linked Immunosorbent Assay) kit is an in vitro enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay for the quantitative measurement of Human Neurotrophin 3 in serum(Neurotropin 3 concentration is low in normal serum/plasma, it may not be detected in this assay), plasma and cell culture supernatants. Optimization may be required with urine samples.

    This assay employs an antibody specific for Human Neurotrophin 3 coated on a 96-well plate. Standards and samples are pipetted into the wells and Neurotrophin 3 present in a sample is bound to the wells by the immobilized antibody. The wells are washed and biotinylated anti-Human Neurotrophin 3 antibody is added. After washing away unbound biotinylated antibody, HRP-conjugated streptavidin is pipetted to the wells. The wells are again washed, a TMB substrate solution is added to the wells and color develops in proportion to the amount of Neurotrophin 3 bound. The Stop Solution
