Question 1

Wednesday 02-November-2011

Good morning;   I want to thank you for your answer that I find satisfactory, and so I would like (if possible) to request you to kindly guide me please in choosing a secondary antibody corresponding to these primary antibodies for Western blot also:     ab65635  ab105048 ab5506    ab25894   Thanking you again for your response, and I wish you a good day.   Best regards.

ANSWER:

Thank you very much for your answer. We are happy to hear that you are satisfied with the recommended antibodies.   As the four antibodies you mention , are all polyclonal antibodies from the rabbit, I can recommend an anti rabbit secondary antibody for detection. If you are using ECL and therefore HRP as detection method of the Western blot, I can recommend the following antibody:   - Goat polyclonal Secondary Antibody to Rabbit IgG - H&L (HRP) (ab97051) Click here (or use the following: http://www.abcam.com/index.html?datasheet=97051).  If you are using samples which have high contents of immunoglobulins, background due to crossreactivity with endogenous immunoglobulins could be a problem. This is not normally the case for Western blot. However if you think it could be a problem, In this case, I would rather recommend the preabsorbed antibody below. The antibody is more expensive as there has been an additional treatement. - Goat polyclonal Secondary Antibody to Rabbit IgG - H&L (HRP), pre-adsorbed (ab97080) Click here (or use the following: http://www.abcam.com/index.html?datasheet=97080). Please do let me know if you are using another detection system (such as lycor for example) and I will try to find the adapted antibodies for that detection system as well. I hope this information is helpful. Please do not hesitate to contact us for further information.

Question 2

Monday 31-October-2011

Good morning;   and wanting to perform Western-blotting for three proteins extracted from human cells, I have the respect to ask you to help me please for choosing the polyclonal primary antibodies (From rabbit if possible) corresponding to the following proteins for western blot:   -Human GPR143  (G protein-coupled receptor 143) -Human SLC45A2 -Human KIT -Human B-ACTIN   Waiting for your help that i hope prompt, i ask you to accept my anticipated thanks.   Best regards.

ANSWER:

Thank you very much for your request and interest in our products. Please find here the suggestion for polyclonal antibodies against the requested targets, for use in Western blot on human tissue. I have always included an alternative antibody product ID, if you prefer an alternative to the suggested product. Please note also, that we do guarantee all our products to work as stated on the datasheet. For GPR142, I can recommend ab65635, tested on human cells and in Western blot (alternatively also ab81112)  Click here (or use the following: http://www.abcam.com/index.html?datasheet=65635). For SLC45A2, I can recommend ab105048, tested on human cells and in Western blot (alternatively also ab75332)  Click here (or use the following: http://www.abcam.com/index.html?datasheet=105048). For KIT, can you please confirm it is c-Kit you are interested in? If yes, I can recommend ab5506, tested on human cells and in Western blot (alternatively also ab46758)  Click here (or use the following: http://www.abcam.com/index.html?datasheet=5506). For beta actin, I can recommend ab8227, tested on human cells and in Western blot (alternatively also ab25894) Click here (or use the following: http://www.abcam.com/index.html?datasheet=8227). I hope this information is helpful. Please do not hesitate to contact us again, should you have any questions or would like to have further information.
