Question 1

Wednesday 16-May-2012

I am interested in purchasing your OSMR antibody, however, the MW seems to be very different from what is expected.
Isn't that supposed to be 110 kDA? In the data sheet for OSMR from abcam , there is a 50 kDA band detected. This is too big a difference to be contributed to the post translational modification etc
Thanks for clarification.

ANSWER:

Thank you for contacting Abcam.

We tested ab67805 in western blot for OSMR transfected cell lysate. The a.a. transfected sequence of OSMR we used is from OSMR, 1 a.a. ˜ 342 a.a (full length OSMR is 970aa). Therefore, we found a signal at around 40KDa in the assay.

Please let me know if there is anything else I can help you with.

Hope the explanation is helpful to you.
