Question 1

Tuesday 27-March-2012

I'm sorry. I don't quite understand: I meant 5ug/ml as the concentration that is
supposed to be used for Immunofluorescence stainings. However, if the average
concentration of the stock solution is already 5ug/ml, then I can't dilute it
further down. This means that I have to use about 100ul antibody for every staining,
which can't be right. Could you clarify this for me, please? Would it be possible
to get a more precise estimation maybe?

ANSWER:

Thank you for your reply.

The stock is roughly 5 mg/ml (milligrams per milliliter). You need to use 5 ug/ml (micrograms per millileter) for the ICC staining. Start with a 1/1000 dilution, but final optimization may be necessary depending on the samples and protocl used.

I hope this information helps. Please contact us with any further questions.

Question 2

Monday 26-March-2012

I would like to know the concentration of your ab50257 PAD2 antibody, please.
On the datasheet I could find the concentration of 5ug/ml for Immunofluorescence. However, the stock concentration of the antibody is not given.
Many thanks.

ANSWER:

Thank you for your inquiry.

Since this antibody is a whole antiserum, it is not purified and a concentration has not been determined. But generally, for this format, you can estimate the total protein concentration between 1-10 mg/ml. I generally recommend that customers split this in the middle and just estimate 5 mg/ml.

I hope this information helps. Please contact us with any other questions.
