Would it be possible to send a small sample of the antibody against PAFAH1B2 (ab15875), so I may test it on cell extracts and for cross-reactivity with our purified gamma subunit? Since there is no data available to this date on the ability to detect the protein in cell extracts or whether the antibody cross-reacts with the other catalytic subunit of PAFAH Ib (the 29kDa subunit, gamma), I am very hesitant to purchase the antibody. As well, I can send the western results for your product data sheet to help other potential costumers. Please let me know if this would be possible. If i cannot receive a sample, is there a return or refund policy if it does not work to detect the protein in cell extracts? |

Thank you for your enquiry. We do not routinely offer free or trial sized samples for testing purposes. Our policy at Abcam is that if an antibody does not work as specified on the datasheet, we will offer a replacement or reimbursement. I understand your concern regarding the specificity of this antibody. At Abcam we are always keen on providing our customers with as much information on the antibody's datasheet. However, on this ocassion I cannot offer you a free vial for testing purposes. The antibody is guaranteed to work as defined on the datasheet; by western blotting against Human, Mouse and Rat lysates. I would like to bring your attention to our Abreview system, where researchers can submit reviews of our products in exchange for Abpoints. Abpoints can be redeemed for rewards such as Amazon.com gift certificates or discounts on future antibody purchases. Should you decide to go ahead and purchase this product, please let us know how you get on by submitting an Abreview right from the online datasheet. I hope this information helps, please do not hesitate to contact us if you need any more advice or information. |

I am interested in your PAFAH1B2 antibody (ab15875), but I have a few questions before ordering. On the datasheet, there is a western blot showing a fusion protein of slightly higher than 75kDa. Do you have an image of a western blot of cell extracts or a western of any tissues? Does this antibody cross react with the other catalytic subunit of PAFAH 1b (the 29kDa subunit, gamma)? |

ANSWER: |
Thank you for your enquiry. Unfortunately we do not have images of this antibody applied to cell lysates. The antibody was made from full length recombinant protein. This protein has sequence homology with PAFAH 1b of 65%. Therefore whilst the cross reactivity of this antibody has not been tested there is a possibility, albeit small that it may indeed cross react. I hope this information helps, please do not hesitate to contact us if you need any more advice or information. |
