Question 1

Wednesday 14-May-2003

I believe you need to update your records since p65 PAK is a redundant name and the three human mammalian isoforms are termed Pak1 2 & 3. Your synthetic peptide corresponding to 484-502 probably cross reacts with all three isoforms - but I am unclear what the sequence is.

ANSWER:

The antibody was raised to residues 484-502 of human lymphocyte PAK-2. The synthetic peptide sequence used to generate the antibody was dvekrgsakellqhpflkl. The antibody does seem to cross-react with forms of p65PAK other than PAK-2. This has been directly tested with purified preparations of PAK-1 but not with PAK-3.
