Relevance
Platelet Derived Growth Factor (PDGF) is the major serum mitogen for cells of mesenchymal origin in humans. The biologically active protein is a dimer composed of two related polypeptides designated A and B, the dimers being connected by disulfide bonds. The PDGF protein has been implicated both directly as well as indirectly in several pathological states including neoplasia, arthritis, arteriosclerosis and bone marrow sclerosis.

Purification notes
ab73233 is purified by proprietary chromatographic techniques. Purity is greater than 95.0% as determined by RP-HPLC and SDS-PAGE.
Form
Lyophilised Reconstitute in sterile 100mM acetic acid and 0.1% BSA not less than 100µg/ml, which can then be further diluted to other aqueous solutions. Upon reconstitution ab73233 should be stored at 4°C between 2-7 days and for future use below -18°C. For long term storage it is recommended to add a carrier protein (0.1% HSA or BSA). Please prevent freeze-thaw cycles.
Storage instructions
The lyophilized protein is stable for a few weeks at room temperature, but best stored at -20°C.
Expression system
E. coli
Sequence
The sequence of the first five N-terminal amino acids was determined to be Ser-Leu-Gly-Ser-Leu.
