Our Abpromise guarantee covers the use of ab82163 in the following tested applications.

The application notes include recommended starting dilutions; optimal dilutions/concentrations should be determined by the end user.

Application Notes
WB Use a concentration of 0.3 - 1 µg/ml. Predicted molecular weight: 22 kDa.
IHC-P Use a concentration of 3 - 6 µg/ml.

Target

  • FunctionPattern receptor that binds to murein peptidoglycans (PGN) of Gram-positive bacteria. Has bactericidal activity towards Gram-positive bacteria. May kill Gram-positive bacteria by interfering with peptidoglycan biosynthesis. Binds also to Gram-negative bacteria, and has bacteriostatic activity towards Gram-negative bacteria. Plays a role in innate immunity.
  • Tissue specificityHighly expressed in bone marrow. Weak expression found in kidney, liver, small intestine, spleen, thymus, peripheral leukocyte, lung, fetal spleen and neutrophils.
  • Sequence similaritiesBelongs to the N-acetylmuramoyl-L-alanine amidase 2 family.
  • Post-translational
    modifications
N-glycosylated. N-glycosylation is required for bactericidal activity.
  • Cellular localizationSecreted. Cytoplasmic granule.
  • Target information above from: UniProt accession O75594 The UniProt Consortium
