Tissue specificity
Most actively expressed in the developing lens. Detected also in embryonic brain, lung, liver and kidney. In adult, it is more abundant in heart and liver than in brain, skeletal muscle, kidney and pancreas.

Form
Prox1 is a specific and required regulator of the development of the lymphatic system and that the vascular and lymphatic systems develop independently. Sox18 directly activates Prox1 transcription by binding to its proximal promoter.

ab37128 staining PROX1 in murine colon tissue by Immunohistochemistry (Formalin/PFA-fixed paraffin-embedded sections).Tissue was fixed in formaldehyde and an antigen retrieval step was performed using 10 mM Sodium citrate, pH 6.0. Samples were then blocked using 10% serum for 30 minutes at 26°C and incubated with ab37128 at a 1/100 dilution for 12 hours at 4°C. The secondary used was an HRP conjugated goat anti-rabbit IgG polyclonal used at a 1/100 dilution.
