Cross reactivity

Reacts with

Mouse, Human

Predicted to work with

Rat

Immunogen

Synthetic peptide: gtlarrkkakevsefqeeg conjugated to KLH, corresponding to amino acids 35-53 of Mouse Parvin alpha. The sequence is identical in human actopaxin and has considerable homology (70%) with beta parvin/affixin, but no homology with gamma parvin.

General notes

Storage in frost-free freezers is not recommended. If slight turbidity occurs upon prolonged storage, clarify the solution by centrifugation before use. Working dilutions should be discarded if not used within 12 hours.

Our Abpromise guarantee covers the use of ab11336 in the following tested applications.

The application notes include recommended starting dilutions; optimal dilutions/concentrations should be determined by the end user.

Target

Relevance

Members of the parvin family, including Parvin alpha (PARVA), are actin-binding proteins associated with focal contacts. Parvin alpha probably plays a role in the regulation of cell adhesion and cytoskeleton organization.

Cellular localization

Cell junction, focal adhesion. Cell membrane; Peripheral membrane protein; Cytoplasmic side. Cytoplasm, cytoskeleton. Note: Constituent of focal adhesions.
