Question 1

Friday 16-December-2011

Testing mouse samples in ICC.

ANSWER:

Thank you for the further information.

It is difficult to select alternatives that are the most 'specific' as we have not tested these antibodies side by side in the same sample application or species. Reviewing the datasheets I think that ab74906 anti-Rab7 antibody and ab3612 anti-Rabb11 antibody may be preferable but please do check the datasheets to confirm whether you agree. Please bear in mind that ab74906 (rabbit polyclonal to Rab7) is not tested in ICC, and as it shows a weak band in WB the staining intensity may be lower than other antibodies. In addition, ab3612 (rabbit polyclonal to Rab11) is only predicted to work in mouse samples, and may not give positive results.

As the Rab7 and Rab11 antibodies will be used in previously untested species/applications, would it be possible to submit an Abreview with your results? It doesn't matter if it is positive or negative, but the information will be really useful for other researchers that may be interested in using these products in a similar manner.

I will be able to provide ab78970 and ab87802. Could you also submit Abreview information for these products too? Any other information you be able to share via our Abreview system would be extremely useful.

Looking forward to your reply.

Question 2

Wednesday 14-December-2011

I am going to titrate the monoclonal Rab11 antibody (ab3612) with my cell for IF. Would you suggest to series dilute the secondary antibody or keep its amount constant for different concentrations of primary antibody, when the secondary antibody is assumed quite specific?

ANSWER:

Thank you for contacting us.

Yes, a suggested starting dilution for the primary antibody would be 1/200. And I would suggest keeping the secondary antibody dilution constant while titrating the primary antibody. Once you know the optimal dilution for the primary you could try a higher and a lower dilution of the secondary to see if any other dilution might give even better results. But it is often advisable to change only one parameter the time.

I hope this information is helpful to you. Please do not hesitate to contact us if you need any more advice or information.

Question 3

Wednesday 21-September-2011

Thanks for the reply. Unfortunately I already bought the antibody. Is there no way that you can provide me with a discount code anyway?

ANSWER:

Thank you for your reply.

I can issue a discount code in retrospect, but we do ask that customers contact us before placing the initial order. The code will become valid once you have submitted the Abreview and can be used to purchase a second primary antibody for free. Please let me now if you would like to proceed and I will issue the code.

Looking forward to your reply.

Question 4

Tuesday 20-September-2011

I would like to test the Rab11 antibody ab3612 in

MDCK cells (canine; CCL-34 from ATCC).

Do you offer a discount for this?

ANSWER:

Thank you very much for your interest in ab3612.

To our knowledge, ab3612 has not been tested in canine. Therefore, I can offer a discount off a future purchase if you buy ab3612 now, test it in canine and submit feedback to us in the form of an Abreview. It doesn’t matter whether the Abreview is positive or negative, we would just really like to receive your feedback. The discount would be to the value of 1 free primary antibody.

If you are interested in this offer, please follow these steps:

1. Reply to this e-mail to let me know that you would like to proceed and test ab3612 in canine. I will then send a discount code. This code must be issued before purchasing ab3612 so please wait for my reply before ordering.

2. Purchase ab3612 either by phone, fax, or online (www.abcam.com).

3. Test it in canine.

4. Let us know the results, positive or negative, using our Abreview system (this will take about 10 minutes and images are great if you have them!). To find out more about our Abreview system, please visit: http://www.abcam.com/abreviews.

5. After the review is submitted to us, the discount code becomes active. Simply place your new order by phone, fax, or on the web and mention the discount code. The discount can be redeemed for any primary antibody ordered and the discount code is valid for 4 months after issue.

We are always pleased to obtain feedback about our products and any information is greatly appreciated! Even if ab3612 turns out to be unsuitable for canine, you will still receive the discount on your next purchase after your Abreview has been submitted.

Please let me know if you have any questions about this offer and I would be happy to help you further.

The Terms and Conditions of this offer can be found at: www.abcam.com/collaborationdiscount.

Question 5

Tuesday 14-February-2006

do you sell the immunizing peptide for your antibodies - in particulary MGTRDDEYDYLFKVVLIC for rab11 antibody (ab3612)?

ANSWER:

Thank you for your email. If we sell the corresponding peptide to go along with an antibody, there should be a link and catalogue number located at the bottom of the online datasheet for the antibody. We do not sell the immunizing peptide for ab3612.

Please contact us again if you have any additional questions.
