Relevance
The RNA interference (RNAi) pathway is initiated by processing long double-stranded RNA into small interfering RNA (siRNA). The siRNA-generating enzyme consists of DCR-2 and R2D2. R2D2 is homologous to the Caenorhabditis elegans RNAi protein RDE-4.

Observed band size : 37 kDa (why is the actual band size different from the predicted?)
Additional bands at : 39 kDa (possible cross reactivity),55 kDa (possible cross reactivity),85 kDa (possible cross reactivity).
ab27650 specifically recognises a band at 37kDa corresponding to R2D2, which is blocked using the immunising peptide (ab17670).
