Question 1

Friday 13-January-2006

We are interested in placing an order for the Rheb antibody (ab25873). According to the information sheet, the antibody is generated against a 15 aa peptide from the middle region of human Rheb. What exactly are these 15 aa? We would like to use this antibody in Drosophila tissues, so it will be very helpful to learn the peptide sequence. If this peptide region is conserved enough, this antibody might work well for our purpose. Thanks a lot for the information. And we look forward to your answers.

ANSWER:

Thank you for your enquiry.

The peptide sequence used is proprietary, but 12/14 residues are identical between the human Rheb and drosophila CG1081. ************ * (Residues 12 and 13 have no homology.) I performed a BLAST as well for the drosophila genome and the antibody may cross-react with other drosophlia proteins like Dras1 and CDC42.

I hope this information helps. Please do not hesitate to contact us again if you need anything further.
