Our Abpromise guarantee covers the use of ab50238 in the following tested applications.
The application notes include recommended starting dilutions; optimal dilutions/concentrations should be determined by the end user.
Indirect ICC/IF: Use at a concentration of 10 - 20 µg/ml, staining cultured human HeLa cells.
IP: Use 10-20µg to immunoprecipitate Radixin from 250ug RIPA of rat liver. Following use of the antibody in immunoprecipitation, neither ezrin nor moesin are
detectable by their respective specific antibodies.
WB: Use at a concentration of 1-2µg/ml using a whole extract of cultured mouse NIH-3T3 cells and a chemiluminescence detection reagent. Use at a concentration of 0.5-1ug/ml using a whole extract of cultured human acute T cell leukemia Jurkat cells and a chemiluminescence detection reagent. Predicted molecular weight: 69 kDa.
Additional weak bands may be detected when immunoblotting some extract preparations. Detection of RDX by immunoblotting is specifically inhibited with the immunizing peptide.
Not yet tested in other applications.
Optimal dilutions/concentrations should be determined by the end user.
Probably plays a crucial role in the binding of the barbed end of actin filaments to the plasma membrane.
Defects in RDX are the cause of deafness autosomal recessive type 24 (DFNB24) [MIM:611022]. DFNB24 is a form of sensorineural hearing loss. Sensorineural deafness results from damage to the neural receptors of the inner ear, the nerve pathways to the brain, or the area of the brain that receives sound information.
Contains 1 FERM domain.
The N-terminal domain interacts with the C-terminal domain of LAYN. An interdomain interaction between its N-terminal and C-terminal domains inhibits its ablilty to bind LAYN. In the presence of acidic phospholipids, the interdomain interaction is inhibited and this enhances binding to LAYN.
Phosphorylated by tyrosine-protein kinases.
Cell membrane. Cytoplasm > cytoskeleton. Cleavage furrow. Highly concentrated in the undercoat of the cell-to-cell adherens junction and the cleavage furrow in the interphase and mitotic phase, respectively.
