Relevance
Rhox5 / PEM is a putative transcription factor which is developmentally regulated. It is expressed in female mouse embryos only from their paternal X chromosome due to early epigenetic gene regulation. Rhox5 can be used to identify female mouse embryos after just 3.5 days.

Additional bands at : 53 kDa (possible isoform).
The band at 53kDa in mouse ovary lysate may represent a splice variant of Rhox5 / PEM. The immunogen is specific for Rhox5 / PEM in NCBI blast and shows no similarity to other homeobox proteins.
