Recommended dilutions
IHC-Fr: Use at an assay dependent dilution (PMID 19054770).
IHC-P: 1/50 - 1/100. Perform heat mediated antigen retrieval before commencing with IHC staining protocol (a 20 min heat induced epitope retrieval, and 30 min primary antibody incubation at room temperature is suggested). The tissue sections should not dry out during the treatment or during the following immunocytochemical staining procedure.
ICC/IF: Use at an assay dependent dilution (see PMID: 17200116).
WB: 1/100. Predicted molecular weight: 12 kDa.
Not yet tested in other applications.
Optimal dilutions/concentrations should be determined by the end user.

S100 belongs to the family of calcium binding proteins such as calmodulin and troponin C. S100A is composed of an alpha and beta chain whereas S100B is composed of two beta chains. S100 protein is also expressed in the antigen presenting cells such as the Langerhans cells in skin and interdigitating reticulum cells in the paracortex of lymph nodes. S100A4 has been implicated in motility, invasion and tubulin polymerization. It is also involved in tumor metastasis.
