Target

Relevance

SALL1, a member of the C2H2-type zinc-finger protein family is responsible for transcriptionally repressing the nucleosome remodelling and deacetylase (NuRD) complex. The NuRD complex is involved in facilitating global transcriptional repression and regulation of specific developmental processes. Mutations in the N-terminal of SALL1 leads to Townes-Brocks syndrome(TBS), which is a rare, autosomal dominant malformation syndrome with a combination of imperforate anus, triphalangeal and supernumerary thumbs, malformed ears and sensorineural hearing loss.
