ICC/IF: Use at a concentration of 5 - 10 µg/ml (recommended using Human HeLa cells).
WB: Use at a concentration of 1 - 2 µg/ml. (recommended using whole cell extracts of mouse NIH-3T3 and rat ROS cells, applying a chemiluminescent detection reagent). Detects a band of approximately 75 kDa (predicted molecular weight: 86 kDa).
Not yet tested in other applications.
Optimal dilutions/concentrations should be determined by the end user.
Component of the COPII coat, that covers ER-derived vesicles involved in transport from the endoplasmic reticulum to the Golgi apparatus. COPII acts in the cytoplasm to promote the transport of secretory, plasma membrane, and vacuolar proteins from the endoplasmic reticulum to the Golgi complex.
Defects in SEC23A are the cause of craniolenticulosutural dysplasia (CLSD) [MIM:607812]; also known as cranio-lenticulo-sutural dysplasia. CLSD is an autosomal recessive syndrome characterized by late-closing fontanels, sutural cataracts, facial dysmorphisms and skeletal defects.
Belongs to the SEC23/SEC24 family. SEC23 subfamily.

Immunocytochemistry/ Immunofluorescence - SEC23 antibody (ab50672)

Human HeLa cells were fixed and permeabilized with methanol followed by acetone. Fixed cells were stained with 5 µg/mL Anti-Sec23 antibody. The antibody was developed with Goat Anti-Rabbit IgG, Cy3 conjugate.

Predicted band size : 86 kDa
HeLa cell homogenates were fractionated on a discontinuous 10–30% OptiPrepTM gradient. Marker proteins indicate mitochondria (complex II), MAM (calnexin), rER (Sec61α), transitional ER (Sec23)(ab50672), pan-ER (PDI), endosomes (MPR46), and cytosol (GAPDH). Fractions are assigned their predominant content.
