I am currently using the Abcam antibody Anti-Smad3 [EP568Y], product number ab40854, and have a question about the specific immunogen. The product information sheet states that the immunogen used was a "synthetic peptide corresponding to the internal region of Human Smad3." We are having some difficulty achieving reliable species cross reactivity using over expressed human and mouse Smad3. We are also attempting to create a mouse/human Smad3 chimera protein, and want to make sure that we are not tampering with the antibody's epitope. Would you be able to provide the specific sequence of the synthetic peptide using to make this antibody?
