Specificity

By immunoblotting and ELISA, the antibody shows <15% cross-reactivity with recombinant human TNF-sRII. Application notes

ELISA: Use at a concentration of 0.5 - 1 µg/ml, this concentration is determined to detect recombinant mouse TNF sRII to a limit of 0.16 ng/well.
WB: Use at a concentration of 0.1 - 0.2 µg/ml, this concentration is determined using recombinant mouse TNF sRII at 5 ng/lane under non-reducing and reducing conditions. Predicted molecular weight: 75 kDa.

Not tested in other applications.
Optimal dilutions/concentrations should be determined by the end user.

Function

Receptor with high affinity for TNFSF2/TNF-alpha and approximately 5-fold lower affinity for homotrimeric TNFSF1/lymphotoxin-alpha. The TRAF1/TRAF2 complex recruits the apoptotic suppressors BIRC2 and BIRC3 to TNFRSF1B/TNFR2. This receptor mediates most of the metabolic effects of TNF-alpha. Isoform 2 blocks TNF-alpha-induced apoptosis, which suggests that it regulates TNF-alpha function by antagonizing its biological activity.
