Application notes

ELISA: 1/500.
WB: 1/500 - 1/1000. Detects a band of approximately 53 kDa in Mia PaCa-2 cell membrane extracts (predicted molecular weight: 47 kDa). This is consistent with the
glycosylated form of the receptor (see Helboe et al, PMID 9387866) though lower than 60 kDa reported elsewhere (see Gu et al PMID 8847999 and Hadcock et al PMID 8145728).


Not yet tested in other applications.
Optimal dilutions/concentrations should be determined by the end user.

Target

Function

Receptor for somatostatin with higher affinity for somatostatin-14 than -28. This receptor is coupled via pertussis toxin sensitive G proteins to inhibition of adenylyl cyclase. In addition it stimulates phosphotyrosine phosphatase and Na(+)/H(+) exchanger via pertussis toxin insensitive G proteins.

Tissue specificity

Fetal kidney, fetal liver, and adult pancreas, brain, lung, jejunum and stomach.
