Can you tell me how this antibody is prepared and what the specificity is? Also can you tell me how the immunogen was prepped. I am using this antibody to detect Streptococcus mutans in saliva and I am not able to see any signal. I am trying to figure out if I need to add a special treatment to my samples in order to get access to the epitope.

This antibody was made from antiserum which is developed in rabbit by using S. mutans whole cell as immunogen. This antibody is specific to Streptococcus mutans (serotype C) and streptococcus sobrinus (serotype d). Thus, I do not think that there is any special treatment required for this antibody to recognize the protein.
