SDS-PAGE: Use at an assay dependent dilution.
ab81898 has been used for in vitro transcription assays and protein-protein interaction assays. 10 units are sufficient for a 25 µl reconstituted transcription assay and 100 units are sufficient for a protein-protein interaction assay detected by immuno-blot system.
1 unit equals 1 nanogram of purified protein.
Not yet tested in other applications.
Optimal dilutions/concentrations should be determined by the end user.

|
TFIIB is one of the ubiquitous factors required for transcription initiation by RNA polymerase II. The protein localizes to the nucleus where it forms a complex (the DAB complex) with transcription factors IID and IIA. Transcription factor IIB serves as a bridge between IID, the factor which initially recognizes the promoter sequence, and RNA polymerase II.
