Our Abpromise guarantee covers the use of ab11818 in the following tested applications.
The application notes include recommended starting dilutions; optimal dilutions/concentrations should be determined by the end user.
ELISA: Use at an assay dependent dilution.
IP: Use at an assay dependent dilution.
WB: 1/1000. Detects bands of approximately 23 and 29 kDa, corresponding to unglycosylated and glycosylated protein.
Note: TIMP4 is reported in heart tissue, and is produced by some fibroblasts in cell culture conditions. Treatment of cells with the phorbol ester TPA stimulates production of TIMP4 in some cell types, but the low protein levels produced often require concentration of the cell culture media to visualize the bands by immunoblotting.
Not tested in other applications.
Optimal dilutions/concentrations should be determined by the end user.
Complexes with metalloproteinases (such as collagenases) and irreversibly inactivates them by binding to their catalytic zinc cofactor. Known to act on MMP-1, MMP-2, MMP-3, MMP-7 and MMP-9.
Abundant in heart and present at low levels in many other tissues.
Belongs to the protease inhibitor I35 (TIMP) family.
Contains 1 NTR domain.
Secreted.
