Question 1

Monday 07-May-2012

Is the concentration of FITC in ab58864 40x as in Ab81197 ( IgG2a Isotype)?

I checked the TLR9 antibody list. Is the Anti-TLR9 antibody [5G5] (ab16892) exactly same as ab58864 except FITC labeling? However, it does not react with human cells. Do you have Anti-TLR9 antibody [5G5] which reacts with human and non-labeling?

thanks

ANSWER:

Thank you for your reply.

Although the exact amount of FITC in ab58864 and ab81197 has not been determined, for the purposes of your calculations, you can assume that it is 40x greater.

Both ab16892 and ab58864, are the same clone of antibody, but the ab58864 has a FITC label. You could also use ab12121:

Question 2

Friday 04-May-2012

Hi,

Anti-TLR9 antibody [5G5] (FITC) (ab58864) worked very good in our expt. Now question is about FITCIgG2a isotype control (ab81197). What is the concentration? What is the dilution if we use it as control for ab58864.

Besides, can we purchase the same anti-TLR9 antibody withoutFITC labeling from you? thanks

ANSWER:

Thank you for contacting us.

Ab81197 Mouse IgG2a (FITC) - Isotype control is supplied in a500 µl size at 4mg/ml. To correctly use this control you will need to use this at the same concentration as yourab58864 Anti-TLR9 antibody [5G5] (FITC) which is supplied at 0.1mg/ml. You will therefore need 40x less of the isotype control than you use for the TLR9 antibody.

We do carry a number of alternative TLR9 antibodies many of which are guaranteed to work in Flow Cytometry. The entire list may be found at the following link:

What is the epitope sequence of ab58864?

ANSWER:

Thank you for your inquiry.

Unfortunately the epitope for this antibody is not determined.

Question 4

Tuesday 21-February-2012

dear sir,
I need to buy an anti TLR9 antibody for immunofluorescence staining of murine cells.
I've read that you have an anti mouse TLR9 in your catalogue (clone 5G5).
Is possible to have some reference in which this antibody was used, or a fluorescence microscopy image obtained using this antibody, that validate the use of this antibody for immunofluorescence in mice?
Thanks in advance

ANSWER:

Thank you for contacting us.

Unfortunately, all the references and images available are already on the datasheet. We are continuously updating our datasheets, and as soon as we gather further characterisation details about it, we will share it on the Website.

We also encourage our antibody’s users to send us the images obtained with the antibodies and earn Abpoints in compensation: http://www.abcam.com/abpoints.

However, all of our products are covered by our Abpromise® guarantee, which ensures that you can trust our products, and they should work in the tested species and applications stated on the datasheet, or we will offer a replacement, credit, or refund, if reported within 6 months of purchase.
