Recommended dilutions ELISA: 1/64000. IHC-P: Use at a concentration of 0.3 - 1 µg/ml. In paraffin embedded Human Kidney, shows nuclear staining of some epithelial cells of glomeruli and renal tubules. WB: Use at a concentration of 0.1 - 0.3 µg/ml. Detects a band of approximately 17 kDa. Transfer onto PVDF membrane and block in 3 % milk. Incubate primary antibody with membrane at room temperature.
Not yet tested in other applications. Optimal dilutions/concentrations should be determined by the end user.

Relevance
|
The modification of proteins with ubiquitin is an important cellular mechanism for targeting abnormal or short-lived proteins for degradation. Ubiquitination involves at least three classes of enzymes: ubiquitin-activating enzymes, or E1s, ubiquitin-conjugating enzymes, or E2s, and ubiquitin-protein ligases, or E3s. This gene encodes a member of the E2 ubiquitin-conjugating enzyme family. Four alternatively spliced transcript variants encoding the same protein have been found for this gene. Catalyzes the covalent attachment of ubiquitin-like protein SUMO-1 to other proteins. Forms a tight complex in association with two RAN GTPase interacting proteins, RANGAP1 and RANBP2. Interacts with E1A and E2A. Interacts with HIPK1 and HIPK2. Interacts with SIAH1 and PARP. Expressed in heart, skeletal muscle, pancreas, kidney, liver, lung, placenta and brain. Also expressed in testis and thymus.

Immunocytochemistry/ Immunofluorescence - UBE2I / UBC9 antibody (ab21193)
ab21193 staining UBE2I / UBC9 in mouse oocyte by Immunocytochemistry. The cells were fixed in paraformaldehyde, permeabilized in 0.1% Tween and blocked in 0.1% BSA for 30 minutes at 25°C. The primary antibody was diluted 1/50 and incubated with sample for 1 hour at 25°C. A Cy5® conjugated Donkey polyclonal to goat, diluted 1/400 was used as the secondary.
