Anti-Ubiquitin antibody (ab7780)

Antibody was stored at -20C for 2 weeks, but the datasheets says to store at 4C and not to freeze. Will the antibody still be ok to use?

I have heard back from the lab and they have told me that we do not have experimental data regarding the effect storing the antibody at -20C will have on the performance, as we only store this antibody at 4C.

Based on experience, since it is only a one time freeze-thaw cycle it probably will not affect the performance of most antibodies. However, I have had the experience where a one time freeze-thaw cycle did affect the performance, so it is difficult to predict without doing an experiment.

Le ab33893 est un anticorps monoclonal de lapin. Il donne une très jolie bande sur des cellules Hela. Cet anticorps est relativement populaire et nous avons pas eu de feedback négative depuis plus que deux ans. Je pense que cet anticorps est donc un bon choix. Nous avons pas encore des feedbacks (Abreviews) d'utilisateurs, ceci voudrait dire aussi que vous recevrez plus de points si vous nous donnez des feedbacks. Si vous préférez un anticorps avec plus de feedback (Abreviews) d'autres utilisateurs, je peux vous recommander le ab7780. Ceci est un anticorps très populaire et les utilisateurs semblent être très satisfaits (voir les Abreviews). Des bandes non-spécifiques ont aussi été reporté pour cet anticorps par contre. Comme discuté au téléphone, il est difficile à déterminer si une bande est non-spécifique ou si c'est une protéine ubiquitinylé. I used to anti-ubiquitin antibodies with the same free floating sections with antigen pH 6 retrieval buffer using mouse brain. One antibody worked great (ab7254) and another ab7780 didn't stain at all.

Does ab7780 recognize both ubiquitin and polyubiquitin?

The immunogen of ab7780 is the recombinant full length human ubiquitin protein. Theoretically, it should recognize both ubiquitin and polyubiquitin.
