Question 1

Monday 15-November-2004

Will the target recognise ubiquitinated proteins as well as inclusion bodies?

ANSWER:

Thank you for your enquiry regarding the specificity of Ab8134. If the ubiquitin is covalently attached to the protein (ubiquitinated), then this antibody should recognize it. If the protein has already been degraded and the ubiquitin is no longer bound, then this antibody will not work. If you have any further questions then please do not hesitate to get back in touch with us.

Question 2

Tuesday 22-July-2003

What is the source of the purified ubiquitin used as the immunogen....human ubiquitin, bovine ubiquitin????

ANSWER:

The immunogen is bovine ubiquitin.

Question 3

Friday 03-May-2002

Is antigen retrieval needed for ab8134 anti-ubiquitin immunohistochemistry using formalin-fixed, paraffin-embedded human tissues?

ANSWER:

the antibody should work w/o antibgen retrieval, provided the tissue has been sitting in formalin for less than 24 hours. If the tissue has been fixed for more than 24 hours, try using the HIER technique. I hope that this helps.
