Product name

Anti-VEGFB antibody
See all VEGFB products (6) ...

Description

Goat polyclonal to VEGFB

Specificity

Anti-human VEGFB exhibits less than 5% cross-reactivity with recombinant human VEGFD and no cross-reactivity with recombinant human VEGF and recombinant mouse VEGF.

Tested applications

ELISA, WBmore details

Cross reactivity

Reacts with

Mouse, Human

Immunogen

Recombinant full length VEGFB 186 (Human), expressed in E. coli.

General notes

Do not store in a frost-free freezer. Endotoxin level is < 30 ng/mg antibody as determined by the LAL (Limulus amebocyte lysate) method.

Properties

Form

Liquid

Storage instructions

Shipped at 4°C. Upon delivery aliquot and store at -20°C or -80°C. Avoid repeated freeze / thaw cycles.

Purity

Immunogen affinity purified

Purification notes

VEGFB 167/186 specific IgG is purified by passing the goat sera over a human VEGFB 186 affinity column. The bound fraction is then purified on a human VEGFB 167 affinity column.

Application notes

ELISA: Use at a concentration of 0.5 - 1 µg/ml. The detection limit for recombinant human VEGFB 167 is approximately 0.3 ng/well. The detection limit for recombinant human VEGFB 186 is approximately 0.03 ng/well.
WB: Use at a concentration of 0.1 - 0.2 µg/ml. The detection limit for recombinant human VEGFB 167 is approximately 25 ng/lane under non-reducing and reducing conditions. The detection limit for recombinant human VEGFB 186 is approximately 5 ng/lane under non-reducing and reducing conditions. Predicted molecular weight: 22 kDa.

Not tested in other applications.
Optimal dilutions/concentrations should be determined by the end user.

Target

Function

Growth factor for endothelial cells. VEGF-B167 binds heparin and neuropilin-1 whereas the binding to neuropilin-1 of VEGF-B186 is regulated by proteolysis.

Tissue specificity

Expressed in all tissues except liver. Highest levels found in heart, skeletal muscle and pancreas.

Sequence similarities

Belongs to the PDGF/VEGF growth factor family.

Post-translational
modifications

VEGF-B186 is O-glycosylated.

Cellular localization

Secreted. Secreted but remains associated to cells or to the extracellular matrix unless released by heparin.

Information by UniProt

Form

There are 2 isoforms produced by alternative splicing.
