Question 1

Tuesday 25-October-2011

Hi We use a lot of your NBR1 antibody listed below. I was wondering if there was a possibility of ordering a larger size? perhaps 100ug or 200ug instead of 50ug? If not, perhaps a quote if we order 3 lots in 1 go? BW

ANSWER:

Thank you for your enquiry which has been forwarded to the scientific support team.

I am sorry we do not provide larger vial sizes. We can offer a discount if you purchase 5 vials or more on one order (of the same product, or different products). I can recommend to contact our customer service department with a completed  list of which antibodies and the quantity required for each product. They will be happy to then provide you with a quote. Please email: orders@abcam.com

Thank you for your interest in our products. If you have any further questions, please do not hesitate to contact us.

Question 2

Tuesday 03-January-2006

What do you mean by the following?

WB: Use at an assay dependent dilution.

ANSWER:

Thank you for your enquiry.

The sentence "Use at an assay dependent dilution" means that we do not have information about the exact dilution to be used in WB as it is very variable and depends on the type of tissue used. We recommend to run a preliminary experiment to determine the concentration to use by trying a range of dilutions (try 1:100-1:500 (as it in unpurified antibody)) and to optimise this following the results.

I hope this information helps, please do not hesitate to contact me if I can be of further assistance,

Question 3

Thursday 30-September-2004

Our customer purchased ab11194(Vinculin antibody) and she is going to perform IF. She has to know concentration of this product. I know you are not able to provide it exactly because this antibody is ascites. However, can you give me it approximately? I always appreciate your help.

ANSWER:

Thank you for your email. To use ab11194 in IF, a 1:400 dilution is recommended. I think the approximate concentration ranges from 5 and 10 mg/ml for ascites.
