WASF2 (Wiskott-Aldrich syndrome protein family member 2) is a downstream effector molecule involved in transmission of signals from tyrosine kinase receptors and small GTPases to the actin cytoskeleton. WASF2 binds at the C-terminal to the Arp2/3 complex and to actin through its VPH (verprolin homology) domain. WASF2 expression is also implicated in invasive and metastatic cancers, such as adenocarcinoma of the lung.
