I noticed the EGF-treated 293 cells lysate as a positive control on the dtasheet, but I did not find such a product on Abcam's web site. Do you offer such a product? Thank you for your help,

Can ab30085 serve as a WB positive control for ab53151 (WNK1 antibody). On the ab53151 datasheet, human breast carcinoma tissue is noted as a positive control.

ANSWER:

  

Thank you for your enquiry. I would predict that a cytoplasmic lysate of human breast tumor tissue will have some WNK1 protein as in tissue sections of human breast carcinoma this protein was detected with the antibody. However, as the lysate is a homogenate of many proteins the final concentration of WNK1 protein may be too low to be detected in western blotting compared to IHC, so without trying we cannot be sure if the lysate will have good level, therefore I cannot guarantee that the lysate is a suitable positive control. In the laboratory the positive control used was lysates from 293 cells treated with EGF (200ng/ml, 30 min).
