Recommended dilutions ELISA: Use at an assay dependent dilution. WB: Use at a concentration of 0.1 - 1.0 µg/ml. Detects a band of approximately 38 kDa (predicted molecular weight: 31 kDa). Inhib: Inhibition of in vitro excision repair reaction and Inhibition of XPA interaction with ERCC1 and TFIIH. Use at an assay dependent dilutions.
Not yet tested in other applications. Optimal dilutions/concentrations should be determined by the end user.

Relevance
|
The XPA (xeroderma pigmentosum group A) protein specifically recognizes the UV- or chemically damaged DNA lesions, and triggers the nucleotide excision repair process. XPA binds to the replication protein A (RPA) or the excision repair cross complementing 1 protein (ERCC 1). In the absence of nucleotide excision repair persisting (unrepaired) DNA lesions (adducts) may lead to the accumulation of gene mutations and ultimately to cancer. Xeroderma pigmentosum patients have a >2000 fold increased risk to develop skin cancer at sun-exposed areas.
