Application notes

IHC-P: Use at an assay dependent dilution.
IHC-Fr: Use at an assay dependent dilution.
IHC: This antibody may be diluted to a titer of 1:25-1:50 in an ABC method.
We suggest an incubation period of 30 minutes at room temperature.
However, depending upon the fixation conditions and the staining system employed, optimal incubation conditions and antibody dilutions should be determined by the user.
Formalin fixed paraffin embedded tissue sections require high temperature antigen unmasking with 10 mM citrate buffer, pH 6.0 prior to immunostaining.

WB: 1/100 - 1/250. Predicted molecular weight: 38 kDa.
IP: 1/100 - 1/250.

Not yet tested in other applications.
Optimal dilutions/concentrations should be determined by the end user.

Target

Function

Involved in the homologous recombination repair (HRR) pathway of double-stranded DNA, thought to repair chromosomal fragmentation, translocations and deletions. Plays a role in regulating mitochondrial DNA copy number under conditions of oxidative stress in the presence of RAD51 and RAD51C.

Sequence similarities

Belongs to the RecA family. RAD51 subfamily.

Post-translational
modifications

Phosphorylated upon DNA damage, probably by ATM or ATR.

Cellular localization

Nucleus. Cytoplasm. Cytoplasm > perinuclear region. Mitochondrion. Accumulates in discrete nuclear foci prior to DNA damage, and these foci persist throughout the time course of DNA repair.
