| Application notes (see key) | Recommended dilutions WB: Use at an assay dependent dilution. Predicted molecular weight: 105 kDa. A recommended starting concentration for Western blots is 1:1,000 when using colorimetric substrates such as BCIP/NBT, and 1:5,000 for chemiluminescent substrates. Higher concentrations of antibody may be needed for samples from more distantly related species. EDTA/EGTA treatment of tissues or lysates is required to see latent zymogen. Ab39195 recognizes the zymogen of ADAMTS1 at 110-120 kD in reduced Western blots, but not the furin cleaved ADAMTS1. Dilution optimised using Chromogenic detection. Not yet tested in other applications. Optimal dilutions/concentrations should be determined by the end user. |

| Relevance | ADAMTS1 is a metalloproteinase of the ADAM (A Disintegrin And Metalloproteinase) family containing disintegrin-like domains. ADAMTS1, also known as METH1, was first described as a protein elevated in invasive mouse tumors. Initial findings indicated a role for ADAMTS1 in tumor progression, since the protein was preferentially expressed in more invasive tumor cell lines. ADAMTS1 is necessary for normal growth, fertility, and organ morphology and function. |
