Applications

Fast track antibodies constitute a diverse group of products that have been released to accelerate your research, but are not yet fully characterized. They have all been affinity purified and show high titre values against the immunizing peptide (by ELISA). Fast track terms of use

Application Abreviews Notes
WB Use at an assay dependent concentration. Predicted molecular weight: 1 kDa. Preliminary experiments gave bands at approx 100kDa and 24kDa in HeLa lysates after 0.3µg/ml antibody staining. Please note that currently we cannot find an explanation in the literature for the bands we observe given the calculated size of 120kDa according to NP_689549.2. Both detected bands were successfully blocked by incubation with the immunizing peptide (and BLAST results with the immunizing peptide sequence did not identify any other proteins to explain the additional bands).

Target

  • FunctionMetallocarboxypeptidase that mediates deglutamylation of target proteins. Catalyzes the deglutamylation of polyglutamate side chains generated by post-translational polyglutamylation in proteins such as tubulins. Also removes gene-encoded polyglutamates from the carboxy-terminus of target proteins such as MYLK. Acts as a long-chain deglutamylase and specifically shortens long polyglutamate chains, while it is not able to remove the branching point glutamate, a process catalyzed by AGBL5/CCP5.
  • Sequence similaritiesBelongs to the peptidase M14 family.
  • Cellular localizationCytoplasm > cytosol.
