SpecificityAnti-alpha-N-Catenin recognizes alpha-N-catenin (102 kDa) by immunoblotting.
Staining of the alpha-N-catenin band in immunoblotting is specifically inhibited with the alpha-N-catenin immunizing peptide (human, amino acids 171-186).

If slight turbidity occurs upon prolonged storage, clarify the solution by centrifugation before use.
Working dilutions should be discarded if not used within 12 hours.

ab11347 staining alpha 2 Catenin (left) in Mouse cortical ventricular zone tissue sections by Immunohistochemistry (IHC-Fr - frozen sections). Tissue was fixed with 4% paraformaldehyde in PBS overnight at 4°C, then saturated in 30% sucrose at 4°C (for at least 18 hours). Fixed and saturated brains were embedded in OCT compound and frozen rapidly with dry ice, and then 12µm cyrosections collected and stored at -80°C. Samples were incubated with primary antibody (1/500). Middle - non-phosphorylated active beta catenin, Right - merge. Beta catenin co-localizes with alpha catenin at the apical junctions rings.
