  • Application notesIF: 1/1000 and higher.
    WB: 1/10000 and higher. Detects a band of approximately 66-68 kDa (the human protein runs at ~68 kDa, while rat, mouse and other species run at ~66 kDa). Minor bands at ~150 kDa are probably covalent dimers, and bands at ~50 kDa represent alpha internexin breakdown products. (Predicted molecular weight: 55 kDa).

    Not yet tested in other applications.

    • FunctionClass-IV neuronal intermediate filament that is able to self-assemble. It is involved in the morphogenesis of neurons. It may form an independent structural network without the involvement of other neurofilaments or it may cooperate with NF-L to form the filamentous backbone to which NF-M and NF-H attach to form the cross-bridges.
