  • Application notesELISA: Use at an assay dependent dilution.
    IHC-P: 1/10 - 1/100. Perform heat mediated antigen retrieval before commencing with IHC staining protocol. Sodium citrate buffer pH 6.0 is recommended for this purpose.
    WB: 1/50 - 1/100. Predicted molecular weight: 170 (somatic) or 90 (germinal) kDa.

    Is unsuitable for FACS.

  • Target

    • FunctionConverts angiotensin I to angiotensin II by release of the terminal His-Leu, this results in an increase of the vasoconstrictor activity of angiotensin. Also able to inactivate bradykinin, a potent vasodilator. Has also a glycosidase activity which releases GPI-anchored proteins from the membrane by cleaving the mannose linkage in the GPI moiety.
    • Tissue specificityUbiquitously expressed, with highest levels in lung, kidney, heart, gastrointestinal system and prostate. Isoform Testis-specific is expressed in spermatocytes and adult testis.
    • Involvement in diseaseIschemic stroke (ISCHSTR) [MIM:601367]: A stroke is an acute neurologic event leading to death of neural tissue of the brain and resulting in loss of motor, sensory and/or cognitive function. Ischemic strokes, resulting from vascular occlusion, is considered to be a highly complex disease consisting of a group of heterogeneous disorders with multiple genetic and environmental risk factors.     Anti-Angiotensin Converting Enzyme 1 antibody [3C5] images

      Lane 2: Angiotensin Converting Enzyme 1 knockout HAP1 cell lysate (40 µg)
      Lane 3: Hu kidney tissue lysate (40 µg)
      Lane 4: Hu lung tissue lysate (40 µg)
      Lanes 1 - 4: Merged signal (red and green). Green - ab11737 observed at 240 kDa. Red - loading control, ab181602, observed at 37 kDa.

      ab11737 was shown to recognize Angiotensin Converting Enzyme 1 when Angiotensin Converting Enzyme 1 knockout samples were used, along with additional cross-reactive bands. Wild-type and Angiotensin Converting Enzyme 1 knockout samples were subjected to SDS-PAGE. Ab11737 and ab181602 (loading control to GAPDH) were diluted at 1/50 and 1:10,000 dilution respectively and incubated overnight at 4C. Blots were developed with IRDye® 800CW Goat anti-Mouse IgG (H + L) and IRDye® 680 Goat anti-Rabbit IgG (H + L) secondary antibodies at 1:10,000 dilution for 1 hour at room temperature before imaging.
